The bottom fins are definitely an interesting addition to this cooler, but I wouldn't count on them for anything more than an extra degree or two if anything. Nestled in the plastic heatsink retention mechanism it is hard to say what kind of air flow they will receive, and since just an 8mm opening is cut into the base there isn't much chance that exhaust air from the fan will be the predominant breeze.

However, that is all moot in the end, the Kuthtec KTI-2000 performs pretty well - near the top of the OEM level, and while we are not aware of the retail price, I'd expected it to be pretty competitive for this extruded heatsink.
