Acoustic Samples: Listen to this Heatsink!

The waveform image shown below is out of scale for the Sibak AC02625B even though it is a noisy little guy (59.7dB). To listen to the heatsink and hear for yourself what this heatsink actually sounds like. Just click on the headphones and listen to the MP3 recording.

Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.

FrostyTech Sound Level Results
- Manufacturer Model Noise Level Scale
JMC Prducts 400023 46.6 dB quiet
Zalman All Flower HSF 47.4/28.9 dB
Taisol CGK760092 48.4 dB
GlacialTech Igloo 2310 49.4 dB
Noisecontrol Silverado 50.8 dB
Thermal Integration TI-V77L 53.0 dB
Tocools Crown 54.5 dB
Sibak AT01515B 55.8 dB
Sibak AC02625B 59.7 dB
Dynatron DC1206BMP 65.1 dB louder

This shiny little aluminum encased heatsink is a little bundle of noise and high RPM's which I'm sure a lot of you will enjoy. With a fan spinning at 7000RPM, and drawing 0.34A you can guess that things are far from "quiet" on the western front.

Compared to the last Sibak heatsink we reviewed (the AT0151B) this is one heck of a difference, the AC02625B is in line to be one of top coolers in this list of reference heatsinks.

We'll have to look at the rise above ambient temperature results to see just how well the Sibak AC02625B performs against the Thermal Integration TI-V77L.

50W 50W 100W 100W

Well the Sibak AC02625B doesn't quite have what it takes to outperform the Thermal Integration heatsink but it is a very strong contender in this list of reference heatsinks. It is also one of the loudest heatsinks here with a measured noise rating of 59.7dB.

Of course the better a heatsink performs is usually related to how fast and powerful the fan is, and with the Sibak you are looking at some very good performance numbers on the small interface die at 100W. Bottom line; a very good little noisy heatsink with a chewy copper core!
